Discovery Room Wild Life Exhibits

Our Discovery Room features ever-changing, interactive wild life exhibits related to the natural and cultural history of the Sacramento region. Designed to be fun AND educational, the exhibits include multi-sensory hands-on activities for people of all ages and abilities.
There is no additional admission fee for the Discovery Room, and it is open to the public except when class tours or other special programs are scheduled.
Current Exhibits:
- Endangered Species of California's Central Valley
Beginning August 22, 2007
This award-winning and educational exhibit is filled with sights, sounds and interactive experiences for visitors of all ages and abilities and helps pose the question, “How can plants, animals, and people SHARE the Central Valley?”
Exhibits Available for Loan:
The Effie Yeaw Nature Center is proud to present certain exhibits for loan to other organizations.
- Wild about Wetlands

1,500-square-foot exhibit entertains and educates visitors about the history and value of Central Valley wetlands. Featuring 23 panels including a hand painted mural, the "Wild About Wetlands" exhibit offers a fisheye view of wetland creatures.
- A Salute to Songbirds

This hands-on, multi-sensory activities exhibit delights and educates visitors of all ages while addressing the challenges facing migratory songbirds and what individuals can do to help them.
