About Us
Learn about the history of the Nature Center and our goal to create greater awareness, understanding and appreciation of the natural and cultural resources of the Sacramento Region.
Effie Yeaw was a leading spirit in the movement for protecting Sacramento's natural environment. Her vision stimulated powerful support for environmental causes such as adoption of a county tree control ordinance, formation of the Save the American River Association (SARA) and establishment of the American River Parkway. Learn more about Effie Yeaw's legacy.
Our educational programs would not be possible without the generous support of the community: clubs, organizations, businesses, corporations, foundations, government agencies and private individuals. Our sponsors are committed to the value of parklands and conservation education. Learn more about our sponsors and how you can contribute.
